Tui's poem

Kaimanawa Horse Poem
I wake up to the golden sun shining
I stretch and stand
And gallop over to meet my herd
We nibble the fresh grass
So juicy and sweet
We run across the plains
Happy to be free
To do what we please
We are happy to be
kaimanawa horses.

I asked the kids how they wanted to reply to Tui's beautiful poem, and Stig said he wanted to do a poem of his own!

If I were a horse,
I would gallop very fast
and I would sleep from the morning time till lunch time
and I would wake up when lunch time is finished.
And I would eat lots of grass until I get full
and until I have to have a rest.

Hi Tui, I do love your poem. It reminded me of the poems your mum used to write when she was about your age. You must really love horses to know so much about them..... Hmmm, I wonder if you can spell "Hungry Horse" with only four letters... I can, and if mummys memory is good then she will know as well.
If you don't know the answer I will tell it to you..... but you have to e-mail me and ask me, ok.

Hi Tui

I love your Kaimanawa Horse poem! We often still see those horses that lived in the paddock behind your house when you lived in Paraparaumu. I love horses too. You write really well........perhaps you may follow in Mum's footsteps?
