We found this centipede in the bathroom of all places. The kids had never seen one before and all there questions made me realise how little I know about centipedes. Or is it a millipede? Proves my point!!

Hey that's an easy one Lisa. A centipede has 100 legs (hence the name CENTipede) and the Millipede has 1000 legs (Milli coming from Latin for 1000). As an excersize for the kids you could hold the next Centipede upside down and count the legs.... "hmmm, could be a bit hard holding all those legs still while I count them - gee, im glad it's not a Millipede.... dam, im not going to know what it is until I have counted them" lol :o
